Living with an Iron Kettle
-Iron Kettle that enjoys changing day by day
In many families in Japan, iron kettles were replaced by a brazier
regardless of what season it was. At that time electric pots and electro-
magnetic cookers which quickly boil water were not as popular as they
are now.
From an iron kettle steam rises and sounds like ‘shu-shu’ are heard. The
spout becomes covered with a little white scale, the color of the iron
kettles’ body is mixed with the lacquer and the natural rust color of the
iron comes out. The handle is naturally polished with a radiant iron color
when held everyday by family. Naturally when guests visit they pour hot
water from the iron kettle into a cup and with it offer warm hospitality to
the guest.
Let’s start living with an iron kettle now, not the old story!2020.04.30
